I shake my head when it comes down to it. Fan Girls , have taken our reputation and turned it into something that can change the way we are looked at day in and day out. I feel like I have done my best to get my point out in one of my recent posts. There are tons Different Types of Anime Fans , but the one that is mostly known is Fangirls & Fanboys.
Some examples are:
1. People who love anime mostly for visual attractiveness such as pretty character designs and flashy action
2. Girls who only care about the Hott Characters and guys in the Anime and Manga.
"We cant live with them and we cant live without them" - This is one of the most important things.. Even if they make our reputation a little on the poor side of things, when it comes down to it. Anime needs fans and if its going to be all Fan girls then let it be. I also want to hit an important thing , this is key to Anime fans.
Discrimination Against Anime Fans?! - Is Completely unacceptable to me as a proud support of the Anime community. So be sure to stand up and say something about this. I have had people come to me on Facebook (By the way add me on facebook: Tony Lee) and they have told me that they have been a victim to this for a long time and that it even happens inside their family's.

Personally I am a complete fangirl, but I do see the point. I'm careful with what I say around people who strongly dislike anime or are kind of iffy on the thought of it. I have a friend who I consider and "closet otaku" and another friend whose halfway to being as open as me but also still hides the fact. The friend whose 50/50 seems to be the most clueless on who she should and shouldn't say it around. I love cute guy characters like Alois Trancy from Kuroshitsuji 2 and Ayato Naoi from Angel Beats but I'm also obsessed with Kisame Hoshigaki from Naruto, Kenpachi Zaraki from Bleach. I agree with the statement there are different types of otakus but there are also various mixes. Like theres fangirls that are annoying as fudge and make everything in life have to do with anime, I know one and I want to strangle her almost everyday. Theres ones who obsess with close friends and people who have similar feelings towards a specific anime guy, thats what I personally consider myself to be. And then theres others who don't say anything so you'll never know what type of otaku they are. That was my friend for a little while before I finally figured her out. I've met fanboys as well and their almost as bad as the girls. I have one guy friend who says "I'd go gay for him." I think it just depends on the type of otaku you meet to set you opinion on anime fans. My friend who despises the thought of anime, loves Japan, but she despises it because when she was little some idiot obsessed over it so now I'm fairly careful what I say around her. Another friend and I make what we say about anime into a book so she thinks we're talking about a good book series and change the name to something similar in english. Although that is quite extreme we don't want to annoy her. The friend who is 50/50 though makes no change in how she talks about it and blabs to pratically the whole world about anime but gets nervous when new people find out that she likes it. She blames me everytime she gets judged for liking anime.
I really don't know what else to comment on or how else to end this so yeah.
